Resource Person for workshop on Gamification

Resource Person for Workshop on 2D/3D Virtual Navigation and Tourism Promotion through Gamification  This two-day workshop has been organised by Skills for Inclusive Growth (S4IG), Sri Lanka, which supports skills training, sustainable job creation, and business growth across the tourism value chain in Sri Lanka. The workshop was held on May 11th and 19th, 2022.  I have delivered the background of 2D/3D virtual navigation and tourism gamification suitable to implement in the Sri Lankan context, which is possible to enhance the economy.

Award for top-cited Journal article in 2020-2021

My research work published in the Journal of the Association for Information Science and Technology, an A* Journal listed in ABDC Journal Quality List - is among the top cited papers and has generated immediate impact in the research community.

Research paper presentation at the ACIS2021 Conference, Sydney, Australia

Presented a research paper titled - Usability Perceptions of Culturally Adapted Web Pages, in the 32nd  Australasian Conference on Information Systems (ACIS2021), Sydney, Australia, from December 8 to 10,  2022. 

This paper was presented on Day 3 of the conference, on December 10, 2021, in Track 9: Usability, Usability Thinking, and Human-Centered Design in Contemporary Organisations. 

ACIS is the premier Information Systems conference within Australia and New Zealand, targeting Information Systems academics and researchers. It covers technical, organisational, business, and social issues in the application of Information Technology to real-world problems. ACIS provides a platform for panel discussions and the presentation of peer-reviewed information systems research papers.

Sri Lankan UGC's Graduate Training Programme - 2020

Workshop - Social Media for Social Change

Conducted a workshop on Social Media for Social Change for Divisional Youth Camp 2019, in Vavuniya, Sri Lanka, on 20th October 2019. This camp was organized by the Divisional Federation of Youth Clubs, National Youth Service Council Vavuniya. A total of 40 youths benefited.

Distant Learning Education Project

Act as a consultant as well as the coordinator for the Distant Learning Education Project to implement the Learn TV program at a school, Jayanthi Maha Vidyalaya in Jayanthi Wewa, Padavi-Sripura, Sri Lanka. The project was launched successfully on the 27th November 2019 at 2.00 pm. 

About me

I work as a senior lecturer in information technology in the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship, Faculty of Business Studies, University of Vavuniya, starting in July 2019. Further, I worked as a lecturer in information technology from 2011 to 2019 and an instructor in computer technology from 2005 to 2011, attached to the Faculty of Business Studies of the University of Vavuniya.

I also worked as an instructor in computer technology in the computer unit of the University of Jaffna from 2004 to 2005. 

My academic career started as a tutor in computing in the Department of Computing and Information Systems, Wayamba University of Sri Lanka, from January to August 2004.
